You will be met by Eco Tours Rwanda representative at the Kigali International airport, meet and greet, discuss about the safari then Driving and Overnight at your preferred lodge ranging from luxury, mid range and budget. Early morning, Transfer to volcanoes national park after breakfast. The morning you must be at the office of Rwanda Development Board at 7:00 for a briefing about the trekking of gorillas done by the Volcanoes National Park’s guides.
After you will have lunch at the Hotel. We encourage for your own enjoyment to make sure that you are perfectly fit and healthy. It is important to bring good hiking boots, long trousers, gloves for protection against stinging nettles, some snacks & as well as sufficient water as the rain forest gets hot and humid during the day. You will spend one hour with the gorillas, but it is an hour you will never forget. Return to your hotel for lunch and later dinner and overnight.
Next day, Wake up early in the morning after breakfast, you will have a morning boat ride on the Lake Kivu. You will have a chance to see bird species and different water animals like Hippopotamus, Crocodiles and many more on the lake shore. Transfer through the Mountain areas and proceed to the shores of Lake Kivu through a section of traditional farmlands tended to by the colourful Rwandans.
The entire afternoon is spent relaxing by the Beach at the Hotel as you recover from the arduous gorilla trekking experience. Meals and overnight at the Lake Kivu Serena Lodge on the shores of a Crater Lake at Gisenyi. Meal plan – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. When you decide to take another day at Lake Kivu, the morning after breakfast can be spent exploring the tropical gardens with exotic flowers that form an expansive tropical array of manicured lawns and walkways. You could alternatively, just take off your shoes and have the day enjoying the sandy beach of Lake Kivu.
The Resort spa which features the famous Maisha treatments of facials, pedicures, massage and the swimming pool would take care of the other part of the day while at your Hotel. Should you wish, with the guidance of your driver guide, you may also pay a visit to the Rosamond Carr’s orphanage of the genocide victims. Meals and overnight at the Lake Kivu Serena.
